Day’s Completion

June 1, 2013

If moon’s arrival, the day’s completion
Finds your conscience well
Then ye are the glowing and flowing reflection
Upon whom sun’s affection fell

If night drawing nigh, starry commence
Finds you detached from all need
Then ye are the fruit of planted surrender
From the sanctity of daytime’s seed

If thy speech was directed by honesty’s aim
And righteous intent tolled the bell
Then dim skies shall have no stake or claim
Dark surround keepeth no story to tell

If the increasing hour, the aging afternoon
Finds you without a hunger to feed
Then thy appetite has been only for love
Thy longing and loneliness freed
